Built by operators, for operators
We started Summer Apps in 2021 as a small Shopify agency. After hand-building upsell flows for 30+ clients, we kept seeing the same problems: existing apps were either too aggressive, too ugly, or too expensive — and most left messy theme code behind on uninstall.
So we built our own. The first widget was Frequently Bought Together, shipped to one client, then opened up to everyone. Two years later, Summer Upsell powers the cart, product page and post-purchase experience for over 120 stores worldwide.
We're still small on purpose. Every roadmap decision is made by people who've actually run a store — and most features come straight from merchant requests, not strategy decks.

The values behind every line of code
Six principles that shape how we build, ship and support.
Polished, never pushy
Upsells should feel like helpful suggestions — not aggressive interrupts. Every widget we ship is designed for shopper trust first, conversion second.
Operator empathy
We're operators ourselves. Every feature starts with a real merchant problem, not a roadmap brainstorm.
Code that lasts
No leftover liquid on uninstall, no theme bloat, no surprise breakages on theme updates. Software you can forget about.
Measure honestly
Real attribution, not vanity metrics. If a widget isn't lifting your AOV, our analytics will say so.
Default to clarity
From product UX to support replies — we believe clear is kind. No marketing spin, no jargon.
Long-term partners
We don't churn merchants and move on. Most of our customers have been with us for 2+ years.
